Dr Macdonald has over 34 years’ experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology businesses. Most recently he was the CEO of Cynata Therapeutics Ltd, a cell therapy company that is pioneering the therapeutic use of iPSC-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).  His career history includes senior management positions with a range of pharmaceutical and biopharma companies in Europe, the USA and Australia, primarily focussed on business development, corporate strategy and R&D management.  Dr Macdonald currently serves as a member of the Investment Committee of UniSeed Management Pty Ltd, an Australian venture capital company, a member of the commercialisation committee of the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health and as a non-executive director of Trioda Wilingi Pty Ltd.
